James 1:2-4 (MSG) “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”
1. A test of the performance, qualities, or suitability of someone or something.
Imagine yourself driving towards the perfect vacation. As you travel down the highway unexpectedly a storm comes with heavy rainfall. Just a second ago your driving ability was effortless but as the rain pours you have to change gears rather than slow down, applying your brakes, or steering clear of high-risk areas. Regardless, a shift was needed and had to be made for your safety.
The point is, a shift in mindset is needed in every trial. When a trial comes it is for our advancement in the kingdom NOT for Satan’s. Let your mind shift into Kingdom perspective when a trial is right before you. You do this by abiding in thanksgiving remaining in His rest.
